What Is A Body Kit?

A body kit is a set of aftermarket parts or modifications you can add to a car’s exterior to change how it looks, and sometimes how it performs.

A typical body kit usually includes:

  • Front bumper / lip – changes the shape of the nose of the car, often making it sportier or more aggressive.

  • Side skirts – panels added under the doors to make the car look lower and flow with the bumper styling.

  • Rear bumper / diffuser – reshapes the back of the car, sometimes with cutouts for bigger exhaust tips.

  • Spoilers or wings – optional parts that add to the style and, in some cases, improve aerodynamics.

Some body kits are designed mostly for looks (a more aggressive, sleek, or luxury appearance), while others are engineered for performance—helping with downforce, airflow, or weight reduction.
